Climbing Arborist

Your Role

You will handle all aspects of technical tree work, from detailed pruning to large removals. You’ll work with modern gear, a skilled support crew, and a company culture built on safety, high standards, and continuous learning.

  • Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
  • Pay: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
  • Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Experience: Climbing arborist: 2 years (required)
  • Work Location: In person

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical climbing, pruning, and rigging using modern arborist systems
  • Execute structural and aesthetic pruning, crown reductions, and safe removals
  • Support safe rigging and cutting procedures from the ground and aloft
  • Communicate effectively with teammates and occasionally with clients
  • Follow company safety procedures and WorkSafeBC regulations
  • Participate in crew safety briefings, gear inspections, and aerial rescue preparedness
  • Share knowledge and assist in training junior climbers if applicable

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in climbing arboriculture
  • Proficient with climbing systems, rigging, and chainsaw operation
  • Strong knowledge of pruning standards and tree structure
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license with clean abstract
  • Confident reversing and backing up trailers (required)
  • Physically fit and able to work in all outdoor conditions
  • Punctual, professional, and committed to safe, quality work

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • ISA Certified Arborist
  • TRAQ certification
  • BC pesticide applicator license or willingness to obtain
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience with Jobber or similar software
  • Familiarity with plant health care programs or interest in learning
