Anton Artuso

Founder & Lead Arborist

Founder and lead arborist at Microbe Tree Services, Anton brings a rare mix of deep field experience, craftsmanship, and an insatiable curiosity about trees. He holds a diploma in Arboriculture from Humber College and is an ISA Certified Arborist. With a background in Environmental Sciences and formal apprenticeship training in southern Ontario, Anton has worked across Canada and Australia—from Victoria and Salt Spring Island to Sydney, Darwin, and beyond. He’s also competed in numerous climbing competitions and continues to push his physical and technical limits in the field.

Anton specializes in large tree pruning, where his eye for structure and detail really shines. He sees arboriculture as both science and craft—an ongoing conversation between people and trees that requires precision, respect, and humility. He often says the more he learns, the less he feels he knows—but the deeper his understanding becomes.

At Microbe, Anton’s role centres around building systems, mentoring the crew, and ensuring both the team and clients are well taken care of. His leadership is grounded in integrity, work ethic, and a commitment to doing thoughtful, high-quality work—like tasteful pruning, excellent clean-ups, and handling the small details without being asked. His team would likely describe him as knowledgeable, strong, fair, and generous—someone who leads from the front and takes pride in raising the bar.

Beyond the job site, Anton is a devoted family man who’s just as passionate about creating work-life balance as he is about delivering top-tier tree care. He spends his downtime swimming, camping, reading, and making memories with his family—always bringing that same sense of focus and purpose into his personal life.

To Anton, trees are more than just plants—they’re living alchemists, turning air, water, and light into wood. And that mystery is something he’ll never stop exploring.

Timothy Campbell

Climber

Tim is the strong, silent type—the kind of crew member who doesn’t say much, but whose work speaks volumes. A Red Seal Machinist with a deep mechanical background, Tim brings precision, focus, and an incredible work ethic to everything he does. He’s a quiet leader at Microbe Tree Services, someone who sets the bar high simply by showing up and doing the job right.

He serves as our second lead climber and has a real passion for big removals and technical jobs. With a sharp eye for detail and a calm, steady presence in the tree, Tim plays a major role in keeping Microbe’s standards where they need to be: high. He’s currently on track to complete his ISA certification by the end of the year—another step in his ongoing pursuit of excellence.

Outside of work, Tim pushes his limits in equally intense ways. He’s a former high-level competitive rower, now fully immersed in ultra-marathon running and long-distance swimming. That same grit and mental discipline show up on the job site every day—through his endurance, focus, and commitment to doing things the right way.

Tim might not say much, but you always know where he stands. Through his actions, he leads.

Redford Brown

Apprentice Arborist

Red has been with Microbe Tree Services for over a year now, and in that time, he’s become one of the most dependable people on the crew. He’s incredibly organized, thoughtful, and strong—both in the physical sense and as someone others naturally lean on. Red completed the Groundworker Training Program through the ISA and the Ontario Labour Board, and he continues to build his arboricultural knowledge every day on the job.

Red stands out for his calm, considerate approach, especially when working with clients or helping keep a job site running smoothly. He’s got a natural ability to communicate clearly and keep things on track without making a big deal about it. He’s currently working toward his ISA certification, with plans to complete it by the end of the year, and is also interested in becoming a crane operator in the future.

Outside of tree work, Red is passionate about road bike racing. He’s as consistent in his hobbies as he is on the job—right down to bringing the exact same sandwich for lunch every single day. He’s the kind of person everyone enjoys having around: wise beyond his years, easy to talk to, and always willing to help where it’s needed.

Travis Gowing

Apprentice Arborist

Travis brings an infectious curiosity and upbeat attitude to every job site. Since joining Microbe Tree Services, he’s quickly become known for his positive energy and eagerness to learn—qualities that make him a natural fit for the arborist trade. Currently training to become a climber, Travis has shown real talent and confidence in the tree, with the kind of focus and enthusiasm that’s hard to teach.

With a background in auto mechanics, he’s also got a sharp eye for gear, tools, and problem-solving on the ground. Whether it’s organizing equipment or jumping into a technical rigging setup, Travis is always looking for ways to help the team work smarter.

One thing that really sets Travis apart is how much he cares about the final result. He takes pride in doing high-quality work and leaving behind a job site that’s clean, safe, and leaves customers smiling. He’s all about going the extra mile—and it shows.

Even on the toughest days, Travis keeps a smile on his face and helps the whole crew stay light and focused. Outside of work, he’s usually off on some kind of adventure—road tripping, exploring new places, and chasing whatever’s next.
